When indoors on public transportation, the CDC recommends everyone aged 2 years and older wear a well-fitted mask. Staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, avoiding crowds, and wearing a well-fitting mask are steps people can take to protect themselves and others in travel settings. It is most beneficial to wear a mask in crowded or poorly ventilated locations. To help keep travel safer for everyone, consider getting tested for COVID-19 no more than three days before departure. After travel, regardless of vaccination status, be sure to get tested if you develop COVID-19 symptoms or were exposed to a person with COVID-19. Read more about CDC’s mask and travel recommendations.
